The game has five reels and three rows on a green grid with a bucolic Irish countryside background. It features 50 pay lines that are awarded left to right; just hot the “View Pays” button to see the combinations. The minimum bet is .01 credits per spin and the maximum is 50 credits per spin. In a bit of a different design move for Microgaming, and slots in general, the dashboard is still along the bottom of the screen, but your credits, your current bet amount, and how much you've just won are all in small fields at the top of the screen.

Icons include the full range of nine ten, jack, queen, king, and ace symbols that Microgaming design use across dozens of their titles, regardless of genre. Themed symbols include a pot of golden shamrock coins, a purse of silver coins, a well, and the titular Leprechaun’s pointy shoes.

The Lucky Leprechaun is the scatter icon. Get at least three and you'll win up 25 free spins. All winnings in the free spins round will be multiplied by three. During the free spins round golden coins can double your winnings leading to getting six times your normal payout. At the end of the round you are given a choice to gamble. If you win you'll get a multiplier from twice your normal winnings to 500 times your normal winnings.
