Wild Falls is a new game from Play'N Go. We've just launched it to Stakers and wanted to find out what it is all about. With that in mind, we set aside two hours to play it. That way we can tell you what the game is like and you can decide for yourself if is something you'd like to play or if you want to try a different game.
When you start up you will notice there are a bunch of playing cards – 10 through jack – and then gold and mining equipment.
The basic goal is to get three of any icons in a row. This happens a fair amount, but the rewards are very low. Still, it's enough to keep you playing.
What you are looking for is the chest challenge. This is where you make the real money.
There are wooden chests on top of the waterfall. Randomly, they can launch off the waterfall and onto your reels, where they act as a wild card and give you one free spin.
Here's where it gets tricky. During the free spin, you need to have a second chest randomly fall and attach itself to the reels. If that happens, both the second chest and the third chest will remain sticky for one more spin.
Then you need a third chest to land. If this happens you'll trigger free spins. This is very rare however since it involves three independent random events happening all at once. When it happens you'll win a decent amount but it will happen very, very rarely.
During the free spin mode, more likely than not your chests will have multipliers attached. These chests and their multipliers stay sticky during all of the free spins. This means that not only is your first win big, but all your other wins during the free spins will be just as large or larger. That leads to some incredible wins. We won 1,125 credits easily and can imagine it could have been far more.
That's why the chests working out is so rare. The rewards are huge if you can do it. Of course, doing so involves a lot of patience and the bankroll to see you through it. But when it happens, it will make you feel great.
In other words, this is a very high variance game. When you win, you'll win big and be dancing in the streets. But it will take you a long time to get to the point where you are winning.
We know a lot of our players love high variance games – and they will think this one is great. For other players, however, low to medium variance games are a better choice. If you don't like high variance games, you'll probably want to give this one a miss.
If you do like high variance games, though, you'll certainly want to give this one a try. It is incredibly exciting when you finally get to the free spins level. And the rewards are more than worth the wait.
Overall, we give the game 4 out of five stars. The variance could have been a little bit lower – it took us an hour and 45 minutes to get our big win. That said, the big win did deliver very nicely and we have no complaints about that.
The bottom line is that this is a high pressure, high variance game that will turn on a lot of people. If that sounds like you, then you want to load it up right away and start chasing your fortune. You'll have to work for it but when those chests line up it will all be worth it.
