Street Magic is a new Play N Go video slot game. We've just loaded it up onto our site and wanted to find out what it's all about. So we spent a couple hours getting to know the game. Here's our review.
For most of the game, Street Magic is low to medium variance. There are enough wins so you never go too far up or too far down. The wins come every four or five spins, and playing for two credits a spin, we never went more than 25 credits down and then would quickly end up a few credits up.
This is helped by the fact that when you get two magicians on the reels, he'll take up the entire screen, shuffle his cards, and deal out a ton of wilds. Later on in the game, he would instead turn into two giant, reel-covering wild cards. That said, the free wild cards were much more common. They also ended up being more rewarding.
Most of the game went this way until something amazing happened – which changed our entire view of the game.
It was time for us to claim the big win.
It came when we got three magicians on the reels. This is a very rare occurrence, and in two hours happened to us only once. When this happened, the magician once again took over the entire screen. This time, however, he dealt three face-down cards. We were asked to pick one. We did - and it gave us twelve free spins. The other cards showed that the other possibilities were eight and ten free spins.
This time around, all of the wild cards remained sticky, allowing us to build up a ton of wilds on the reels. Because of this, we were able to claim the same wins on multiple spins. Plus, when new wilds came up, we scored even more wins. Then about halfway through we won more free spins - exactly what happened the first time he dealt out three cards and we had to pick a card. This time we won six free spins. All of our original wilds stayed on the board.
Eventually, this resulted in big wins - over 100 credits on each and every spin. By the end of the free spin round, we'd won 1,896 credits. That's huge.
That introduces a high variance twist in what is otherwise a very low variance game. Simply by having enough of a bankroll, we were able to get to the free spin round and win very big.
Of course, if we hadn't had the bankroll to absorb 25-credit losses, it would have been a different story. But having that bankroll made all the difference.
Until that big win came up, we were not that enthusiastic about the game. Once it happened though we were very glad we'd kept playing. You have to have enough money and patience to wait it out until the free spin round happens. Once it does, you'll be very glad you waited. And because the game is low variance at first, you don't need that huge a bankroll. What you need is a little bit of cash and a lot of patience.
Overall we give the game four out of five stars. You have to wait for the big win, but once it comes you'll be very glad you did.
If you have the time and patience to wait for the free spin round you'll have a lot of fun with Street Magic. If you are just looking to play a game for a couple of minutes, you'll want to choose something else.
