Divine Dreams is a brand new slot machine we've installed at Stakers, created by Quickspin. Because it looks so new and flashy we decided to try it out. That way you can figure out if it is the right game for you or not. At Stakers we have a wide variety of games and want to make sure everyone is playing the right game for them. We spent two hours playing, and here are our findings.
The main playing area is set out in a five-by-three grid. There is, however, an extra reel – which we will talk about later.
The icons are a combination of runes and jade animals including elephants, snakes, turtles and such. These are what you are playing with in the main game. Land three in a row and you will assure yourself of a win.
Normally, the wins from these combinations do not pay a great deal. That said, there is an extra reel to the right of the five main reels. This reel mostly contains multipliers. These multipliers, from one to ten, pay off if you have a winning spin.
But there are also free spins on this reel. If you score a free spin, random wilds will appear on the wheels in a flashing form. Whatever reels have been flashing when the spin stops will end up on the reels – giving you a good chance at winning. Plus you have the chance of the multipliers on those winnings. This resulted in a 42.30 credit win for us the first time we triggered this feature.
This extra wheel can also land on Ying Yand Wilds, which puts extra wilds on the main reels. The Ying Yand Wilds icon will then randomly spin through all the possible multipliers until it hits one – giving you a win from the wilds an extra boost.
When three or more free spin icons appear – which is very, very rare – you'll earn free spins. In addition, a new icon will appear on the bonus reel. It awards an extra three free spins whenever you land on it during a free spins round.
This happens regularly enough that you can count on nine or even twelve additional free spins along with your original free spins. It also leads to a huge boost in winnings during the free spin round. But it doesn't happen often. We got it once during the two hours we played. So while it was a huge payoff, it came after we'd already fed the slot a good deal of money.
Which gets to the point of our review. We found Divine Dreams to be a very high variance game. You can win big – and certainly can win your money back – but you have to be willing to invest to do so. You'll see your bank balance go down quite a bit for a while, and then jump up when you get a big win.
The question is whether you have the bankroll and the patience to wait out those big wins. If you do, you'll probably see yourself end up winning big. If you just want to play a quick couple of spins, you may see losses.
Some people love high variance games. But we know that others are not into them at all and prefer low or medium variance games that don't have the huge payoffs that Divine Dreams does - but lack the chance to lose for a while.
Both sides are right and if you like high variance games, you'll love Divine Dreams. When you hit the jackpot, you really hit it big.
Overall we give it 4.5 stars out of 5. We had a great time playing it and for high variance players, it's one of the best games out there.
