Keno is one of the oldest lottery games in existence. And it's a fun game to play in the casino, because Keno lounges are usually set apart from the gaming floor and feature comfortable chairs and table-side drink service. But for those of us who can't reach a brick-and-mortar casino – or simply don't want to leave the house, or want to play while on the go – Microgaming's Monkey Keno is the experience you want.
What separates this from other Keno games are the graphics. They are colorful, innovative and fun. It really looks like an old-school cartoon. That puts a lot more excitement into a retro slot. If you're not familiar with the ins and outs of Keno, not to worry; playing Keno is fairly easy, and we'll walk you through it here.
There is a grid with 80 numbers on it. As a player, you get to pick up to 15 numbers to bet on. The game itself then picks 15 numbers. The more numbers you guess correctly, the more you will win. Getting all 15 numbers correctly pays 10,000 times your bet. It's kind of like a hybrid between Bingo and the lottery.
As the numbers come out, if it lands on one of your numbers, that number will light up, so you can keep track of how many you've chosen correctly. There are no wilds, bonuses, scatters or anything like that. And no progressive jackpots are available.
You can bet from one to 10 credits per game. On the player dashboard below the Keno screen, you'll see plus and minus signs to adjust your bet, a “Clear” button if you want to select all new numbers, and a “Play” button to begin the action.
Keno may not pack the punch that many slots do that have whistles, horns and bells, but it's worth a try.
