Caribbean Stud Poker is a fun way to play cards and potentially win money – with two different ways to come away ahead of the game.

Caribbean Stud Poker plays by standard poker rules. First, place the ante bet. Then get five cards dealt face up. The dealer gets four cards up and one card down. Then decide if you want to fold or make another bet. Fold, and it's a loss.

If you make another bet, then the dealer turns over his hole card and you get to see who wins. For the dealer to have a chance at winning, he has to have at least an ace and king high. Otherwise, the punter wins no matter what.

Should you both have the exact same hand – which is not likely – then it's a push, and your bet is returned to you.

But there is also the side bet that takes the action up a notch. This is the big chance at the jackpot. The side bet happens during ante. If you have three of a kind or better after you get your card, it's a win. To get the jackpot, you have to end up with a royal flush.

By playing the ante against the jackpot bet, you can greatly increase the chances of winning. In addition, by being able to make another bet after you see your hand, the decision is to your odds or walk away without losing too much.

This is an easier way to play poker than Texas Hold 'Em, but still gives punters a great chance to win. Place the right bets, and you could end up as a poker king.

The play is laid back, and you can take your time with betting. Just pay attention to what cards are coming up, calculate the odds, and you'll have a great sense of when to stay in and when to walk away.
